Privacy Policy
Last updated: Nov. 1, 2026
Modern Education Family Childcare ("we", "us") runs licensed family child care homes in San Francisco and South San Francisco. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, daycaresf.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past: if anything is unclear, email us.
The short version
- Apart from basic visit statistics, we collect only what you choose to send us through our forms and email.
- We use it to answer you, arrange tours, enroll and care for your child, and tell you about openings.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we do not use advertising tools on this site. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and you can turn it off.
- A few trusted services help us run the forms, the mailing list and the site itself. They are listed below.
What we collect
Information you give us. Depending on what you do, this can include:
- Contact list sign-up: your name, email and phone number; your home and work ZIP codes; your child's first name and date of birth (or due date); your hoped-for start date, preferred home, and whether you need full- or part-time care.
- Enrollment application, consent forms and transition form: the information California child care licensing requires and that we need to care for your child, such as names, contact details, emergency contacts, your child's date of birth, health and immunization information, routines (naps, feeding), and any special needs or services you choose to tell us about, along with your signatures and any documents you upload.
- Waitlist form (shared with families during or after a tour): your contact details and home address, and your child's information.
- Payments: the waitlist registration fee, and any fee on the application form, are paid by card inside the form. Card details entered in the form go to the payment processor, Stripe, not to us.
- Email and messages: whatever you write to us.
Information collected automatically. Like any website, our hosting provider receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to identify you or build a profile of you.
Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. It sets cookies in your browser and records things like the pages you view, links you click, files you download, videos you play, searches on our site, your general location (estimated from your IP address), and your device and browser. We do not send it your name, your email or what you type into our forms, and we have turned off its advertising features in how we use it on this site. Our private pages, such as the waitlist form page, do not use it. Google explains how it uses information from sites like ours.
Turning it off. Google Analytics runs unless you turn it off. Use the notice shown on your first visit. To change your choice later, use the Cookie choices button at the bottom of the page. When you turn it off, we stop it and delete its cookies from your browser. This does not delete visit data already sent to Google. Your choice is saved in your browser, on this device only, so clearing your browser data resets it. If your browser blocks saved settings, Google Analytics stays off. To opt out on any site, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on, where your browser supports it.
How we use it
Information you send through the site is seen only by the people who need it: our enrollment coordinator and, when necessary, the director and teachers at the home or homes you are interested in.
- To reply to your questions and schedule tours.
- To process enrollment and keep the records that state licensing requires.
- To care for your child safely, for example knowing allergies, routines and who may pick up.
- To email you about openings if you joined our contact list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Who helps us
We use these services to run parts of the site. Each handles your information under its own privacy policy, which explains how that company uses it.
- Jotform: our enrollment application, consent, transition and waitlist forms. What you type in those forms is sent to and stored by Jotform for us. (Jotform privacy policy)
- Stripe: processes card payments made inside our forms. (Stripe privacy policy)
- Google Analytics: the visit statistics described above. (How Google uses information from sites that use its services)
- Mailchimp (Intuit): our contact list and opening emails. (Intuit privacy statement)
- Setmore: tour booking. Our "Book a tour" buttons take you to Setmore's site, where you enter your booking details. (Setmore privacy policy)
- Cloudflare: hosts and delivers this website. (Cloudflare privacy policy)
- familychildcaresf.com: the openings shown on our pages, and the photo gallery on some home pages, come from this San Francisco family child care directory. Your browser fetches that data from the directory's database host, Supabase, and gallery photos load from Instagram's servers (Meta). Like any website, they receive your IP address and browser type; you do not send them anything else. (Supabase privacy policy, Instagram privacy policy)
- OpenStreetMap: map images on our location pages load from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which receive your IP address like any website you load content from. Home locations on our maps are shown by cross street, not exact address. (OpenStreetMap privacy policy)
- YouTube: a few guide pages embed videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which limits what YouTube collects before you press play; once a video plays, YouTube's own policy applies. (Google privacy policy)
We may also share information when the law requires it, for example with California Community Care Licensing during an inspection, or to protect a child's safety.
Links to other sites
We link to other sites, such as review sites, government agencies and product pages. Some links to Amazon are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a small commission, and Amazon may use cookies to record that the purchase came from our link. Other sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a "Global Privacy Control" signal, Google Analytics does not run on our site. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, so if your browser sends only that signal, Google Analytics still runs unless you turn it off. Google Analytics recognizes a returning browser on our site over time, which is how we count visitors. We do not use it to track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Some services that appear on our pages, such as the payment step in our forms, YouTube videos once you press play, and Amazon after you click an affiliate link, may collect information about your activity under their own policies. We do not control those services.
Children's privacy
This site is for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about your child reaches us only from you, through our forms or email. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep enrollment and child records for as long as state licensing rules require, and other information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Google Analytics keeps visit data linked to cookies for 14 months. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
How we protect it
This site is served only over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and our forms send your information over encrypted connections to the services listed above. We limit access to family records to the people who need them to care for your child. No method is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices
To turn off Google Analytics, use Cookie choices at the bottom of any page. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or take you off our mailing list, by emailing us. Some records we must keep by law while your child is enrolled and afterward; if so, we will tell you. California residents may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them where they apply.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
