ASQ developmental screening with the Sparkler app

Our program uses the free Sparkler app, which includes the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) and play activities for your child. When you register, enter our access code: MEFC.

Get started

Dear families,

Our program is partnering with the Department of Early Childhood to make the Ages and Stages Developmental Screening Questionnaire (ASQ) more accessible to families. This effort will make it easier for families and educators to better work together to ensure children’s healthy brain development.

Sparkler is a free mobile app that encourages the early brain and child development of young children through off-screen interaction with their parent or caregiver. You can even use it offline if that is better for you.

How to get started

  1. Download the app. Use the Apple App Store if you have an iPhone or iPad, or the Google Play Store if you have an Android phone or tablet (buttons above).
  2. Enter our access code: MEFC. The first step of registration asks for an access code. Entering ours links your account with our program, so we can support you.
  3. Complete the developmental screening (ASQ). The questionnaires help pinpoint your child’s developmental progress. Your child’s educator can review the results with you.
  4. Try the play activities. Sparkler has over 3,000 play and learning activities, designed by early childhood educators, to do with your child at home.
  5. Share the account. The adults caring for your child can share one account, so everyone sees the same activities and progress.
