No two of our homes are the same, and neither are the families who come to us. We are a family business, and each home is run by a different family member. Sometimes the home that fits you best is full. We want you to leave this page knowing what to do next, even if that means choosing somewhere that is not one of ours.
1. Keep your place
There are two ways to hear from us when a spot opens:
- After your tour: join the waitlist. If you have toured a home and want a spot there, we share the waitlist form with you during or after your tour visit. The waitlist has a $25 fee, and waitlisted families are the first we reach out to when a spot opens. We also check in with waitlisted families to ask whether they have found care.
- Anytime: join our contact list. It is free, and when a spot opens we email it before we announce the opening anywhere else.
Please keep looking at other options while you wait. There is no need to hold out for us, and we will be glad for you if you find the right place sooner.
2. See openings in our other homes
Each home fills on its own timeline. If the home you want is full but another of our homes has an opening, we will suggest it. Here are openings across our homes right now:
Or look at all of our homes and what each one is best at, or try Find your fit.
3. Look beyond our homes
San Francisco has many family child care homes, and we would rather you find the right one than wait on us.
- SF Family Child Care Vacancies: family child care homes with openings now, across San Francisco.
- Find child care by neighborhood.
- Family child care vs. daycare centers: what to know if you are comparing.
4. If cost is the worry
- Child care financial assistance in San Francisco: free and reduced-cost programs and who qualifies. Several of our homes accept Early Learning for All (ELFA) and state subsidies; each home’s page lists what it accepts.
5. Not sure what to look for?
What matters most when choosing child care walks through the things families weigh: safety, education, personal connection, group size, language, warmth, location and cost.
6. Talk to us
If it would help to think it through with a person, email [email protected] with your child’s age and the neighborhood you are looking in.
